In what was being seen as an off beat movie during a time when conventional movies were name of the game, the film Apoorva Sahodharulu that came in the year 1950 caught quite an attention.
The film had R Nagendra Rao as the hero while the iconic Bhanumathi Ramakrishna was the heroine. Records reveal that this has been a key movie in the life of Bhanumathi and earmarked her career for a long time.
The film has been directed by Chittajallu Pullayya and the producer of the film was M S Vaasan.
This was at a time when the Telugu industry was budding in Chennai and so most of the supporting cast and crew members hailed from Kollywood.
The music however was composed by the legendary Saluri Rajeshwara Rao and as expected, the songs were rendered by none other than Bhanumathi herself.

As the title indicates, the story revolves around two brothers and though there was enough pack of sentiment and melodrama in the film, the audience those days found it a wee bit different since the humor was offbeat and the theme as such was not the regular types.
R Nagendra Rao got good accolades for his performance then and though his career did not shine as expected, Bhanumathi’s graphs soared high and she was known for her prowess in singing as well as acting. This was a feather on the cap for the Tollywood folks those days.
